Thai Night Spot is an independent English-language magazine covering Thailand's nightlife, entertainment, and tourism industry. We publish fact-checked news, data-driven analysis, cultural history, and practical guides — the kind of journalism that takes Thailand's nightlife seriously as a subject worthy of rigorous reporting.
Meet the Editor
Rock
Editor-in-Chief & Founder
Rock has lived in Thailand for 13 years, based between Bangkok, Pattaya, and Chiang Mai. Before founding Thai Night Spot, he spent over a decade navigating, documenting, and analyzing Thailand's nightlife scene — from Walking Street to Huai Khwang, from Songkran street parties to 4am noodle runs. His reporting is grounded in firsthand experience, local relationships, and a commitment to getting the facts right in an industry where misinformation travels fast.
Our Mission
Thailand's nightlife industry generates billions of baht annually and shapes the experience of millions of visitors, yet it remains chronically under-covered by mainstream media. When it does get attention, the coverage tends toward sensationalism or moralizing — rarely the careful, fact-based reporting the subject deserves.
Thai Night Spot exists to fill that gap. We treat Thailand's entertainment economy with the same rigor that a financial publication would apply to any other industry — because that's what it is: an industry, with real economics, real history, and real people.
Editorial Standards & Policy
Every article published on Thai Night Spot adheres to the following standards:
Fact-Checking: All statistical claims, historical dates, legal references, and attributed statements are verified against primary sources before publication. We do not publish unverified rumors or unsubstantiated claims.
Source Transparency: We cite our sources explicitly. When we reference a statistic, we name where it came from. When we report a news event, we attribute it to the original reporting outlet. Readers should always be able to trace a claim back to its source.
Corrections Policy: When we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and transparently. Corrections are noted at the top of the relevant article with the date of correction.
Editorial Independence: Our editorial content is not influenced by advertising, sponsorship, or commercial relationships. We do not accept payment for coverage. Advertising and editorial decisions are maintained separately.
No Original Research Without Attribution: When we publish original data — such as our price surveys or industry analysis — we describe our methodology transparently so readers can evaluate our findings independently.
